Being Present

Holy, Patsy Rodenburg.

"Why I Do Theatre."
http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/patsy_rodenburg_why_i_do_theater.html

And it's the truth. Actors, writers, musicians, visual artists- we tell the truth about the world.

"If you play the truth and you're present and you don't want to be liked...." is Patsy's definition of an artist.

It's my lesson of the week.

New things

I'm so glad it is spring. The sun has made a big difference for me, well, actually it is a little grey out, but no matter. Play time outside with my toddler, looking through my new gardening book "Grow Great Grub," by Gayla Trail, plotting out my garden... it is all good.

Actually plotting was really more like 'forced out.' Paco told me that I needed to move the garden to make space for the horrifically ugly swing that the neighbour gave us. So, we moved it.

I am so excited to get my seedlings, they are all like little babies. I'm a bit late on some of the grub I want to grow, but I do have little plots for my stawberries and basil and some other little bulbs that I found in the move that I am hoping to put in the new garden.

And, I started a compost. Wish my luck. I was inclined to start a worm compost, but at the Garden Centre in Kitchener, the lady said it would take a year to start to use my little bit of worm poo. So, I started off with some Compost Activator and Kelp Meal from Urban Harvest. I'll head back to Grand Valley in Kitchener, since they help you plan your garden. That is so great!

I'll keep you posted about the garden space.
